The “Mimosa Cake” from Panificio Melli is fresh and has the color of the sun. It owes its name to the sponge cake it’s made with, which crumbled on the surface resembles mimosa flowers. Originally, it was probably created as an homage to the City of Flowers (Sanremo) during a culinary competition in the 1960s, marking its debut. Later, it became associated with March 8, International Women’s Day, making it the perfect gift due to its elegant appearance and delicate taste.
